Abstract:
      Three-dimensional isothermal flow between a pair of discs in series disc-screw extruder was simulated by CFD software POLYFLOW.From statistical and kinetic views,mixing parameters such as segregation scale and time-average mixing efficiency were calculated to analyze the distribution mixing performance of kneading discs.It was also discussed that the effect of type of kneading discs and distance between discs on distribution mixing performance.The results showed that,the distribution mixing performance of JM element kneading discs was better,and to a certain extent,increase of the distance between discs could improve the distribution mixing performance.
