Abstract: |
The effect of the conversion rate on the composition,micro-structure and properties of high trans-butadiene-isoprene copolymer rubber, which was synthesized in a 10 L autoclave using TiCl4/MgCl2 as supported catalyst, was investigated. It was found that when the initial mole ratio of butadiene/isoprene was 0.2,the average mole fraction of butadiene unit in copolymer decreased as the conversion rate increased;the conversion rate had little effect on the micro-structure of copolymer, and the mole fraction of the trans-1,4-structure in butadiene unit was always greater than 0.98 and that in isoprene unit was always greater than 0.97 at different conversion rates;the greater conversion rate gave the improved tensile strength of raw copolymer, but similar elongation at break and hardness;and a vulcanizate with excellent comprehensive properties was obtained when the copolymer was synthesized at 60% conversion rate. |
