| Abstract: |
| Research on the aging performance and life evaluation of the rubber seals for civil aircraft was introduced. The results showed that the temperature field had a significant regulatory effect on the mechanical property degradation of the rubber material. With the increase of the aging temperature, the elastic recovery abilities of the rubber material showed an accelerated decay trend, and the compression set significantly increased. The thermal degradation reaction caused the tensile strength and tensile elongation at break of the rubber material to exhibit the non-linear characteristics, while the tear strength exhibited the significant temperature dependence. The time-temperature linear regression model based on the critical failure of mechanical properties of rubber material predicted that the theoretical service life of the rubber seal was 48 years under the reference temperature of 23 ℃,and at the typical temperature of 40 ℃,the theoretical service life of the rubber seal was shortened to 12 years. After five alternating temperature cycle tests based on the wide range temperature fluctuation of -55~+70 ℃ in the actual operating environment of civil aircraft, the structure and properties of rubber seals did not show significant changes. |
