| Abstract: |
| Ammonium polyphosphate(APP) or microencapsulated APP(MAPP)/melamine(MEL)/pentaerythritol(PER) intumescent flame retardant systems were added to natural rubber(NR) compounds, and the effect of APP microencapsulation on the properties of NR compounds were studied.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric and water contact angle analysis indicated that nitrogen-phosphorus-carbon integrated MAPP was successfully prepared through a silica sol coating process. When the APP or MAPP/MEL/PER ratio was 30/10/10,compared with NR compounds added with APP,NR composites added with MAPP exhibited higher tensile strength, better hydrophobicity, flame retardancy and dynamic mechanical properties. |
