Abstract:
The rubber-modified engineered cementitious composites (RECC)were prepared by incorporating crumb rubber (CR) and powdered rubber (PR) derived from waste tire rubber into the engineered cementitious composites (ECC),and effects of CR and PR on the properties of the RECC were researched. The results showed that, with CR or PR content increasing, the compressive strength of the RECC decreased, while the tensile ductility and strain-hardening performance increased. With CR content increasing, the corrosion resistance of the RECC to chemical media first increased and then decreased. When CR content reached 15%,the corrosion resistance of the RECC to acid and sulfate significantly increased, but when CR content was excessive, the compressive strength loss rate of the RECC increased.Under impact loading, the stability and damage tolerance of the RECC increased, the RECC was an ideal impact-resistant structural material.
