Abstract:
      The aging behavior of nitrile rubber(NBR) and acrylate rubber(ACM) compounds for oil-immersed transformers(hereinafter referred to as transformers) seals after immersion in 85 ℃ 45# transformer oil(hereinafter referred to as oil)was studied.The results showed that the physical property stability of ACM compound after aging in 85 ℃ oil was far superior to that of NBR compound.When the aging time reached 350 days,the elastic strain energy density of NBR compound was 15% of that before aging,resulting in a loss of elasticity,and the elastic strain energy density of ACM compound remained at 80% of that before aging.The performance degradation of two types of compounds in hot oil was mainly attributed to the migration of benzene-based antioxidants from the compounds,resulting a decrease in the thermal decomposition stability of the compounds.The performance degradation of NBR compound was more significant than that of ACM compound.In conclusion,the hot oil aging resistance of ACM compound was significantly better than that of NBR compound,therefore,ACM compound was recommended as the first choice for transformer seals in high-temperature and with high reliability.
