Abstract:
The halogen-free compound flame retardants prepared by compounding magnesium hydroxide with carbon black N330,silica and zinc borate were added to natural rubber(NR) to prepare the NR composites, and the properties of the NR composites were studied. The results showed that, with the increase of the magnesium hydroxide amount, the crosslinking degrees of the NR composites with single flame retardants and composite flame retardants increased, the hardnesses increased and the tensile strengths and elongations at break decreased. When the compound flame retardant amount was the same, the tensile properties of the NR composite with the magnesium hydroxide/silica compound flame retardant were the best.Compared with the NR composites with single flame retardants, the ultimate oxygen indies of the NR composites with the compound flame retardants significantly increased and the flame retardant properties were good.Compared with the NR composites with the single flame retardants, the thermal stabilities of the NR composites with the compound flame retardants were better, the residual carbon rates were higher. The thermal stability of the NR composite with the magnesium hydroxide/zinc borate compound flame retardant was the best.
