Abstract:
      The effects of different carbon black on the properties of solution polymerized styrene-butadiene(SSBR) were studied. The results showed that,both the temperature and power consumption of SSBR compound filled with carbon black N330 were high in one-stage mixing process. The viscosity-shear rate relationships of SSBR compound filled with different carbon black were almost the same. The smaller the particle size and the higher structure of carbon black were,the more obvious the Payne effect of the filled compound was. The scorch time of SSBR compound filled with carbon black SP5000 was the longest. The curing rate of SSBR compound filled with carbon black N115,N234,N330 and N550 was slightly faster,and the physical properties and wear resistance of SSBR vulcanizate filled with carbon black with smaller particle size were better,but the compression temperature rise was higher. The physical properties of SSBR vulcanizate filled with carbon black with similar particle size but a higher structure degree were better than those filled with carbon black with a lower structure degree. The SSBR vulcanizate filled with carbon black having larger particle size had better wet skid resistance and lower rolling resistance,while the SSBR vulcanizate filled with carbon black N774 had the best wet skid resistance and the lowest rolling resistance.
