| Abstract: |
| The graft copolymer, waste polystyrene(WPS)-g-polyolefin elastomer(POE),was prepared by Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction, and the effect of WPS-g-POE amount on the properties of ethylene-propylene-diene rubber(EPDM) was investigated. The results showed that, the pretreated WPS generated Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction with POE to form WPS-g-POE,the grafting ratio of WPS was 28.8%,and the gel content was 0. The physical properties and hot air aging resistance of the vulcanizates with WPS-g-POE were superior to those of the vulcanizates without WPS-g-POE,or with WPS/POE blend. The comprehensive physical properties of the vulcanizates with 10 phr WPS-g-POE were the best. Compared with the vulcanizate with WPS/POE blend, the vulcanizate with WPS-g-POE had more uniform dispersion and finer particles. |
