Abstract: |
In the present study, chlorinated polyethylene elastomer (CM) was mixed with polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(OV-POSS), and a series of CM modified by OV-POSS were prepared. After that, they were cured with dicumyl peroxide (DCP) and triallylisocyanurate (TAIC) as curing system, and their vulcanization behavior and curing kinetics were investigated via a moving-die rheometer. Moreover, the mechanical properties, thermal stability, dynamic and static thermo-mechanical properties of vulcanizates were studied by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and thermomechanical analyzer (TMA). The results indicated that, with increasing amount of OV-POSS, the activation energy of the vulcanization reaction of the modified rubber gradually decreases and curing rates increased gradually, the tensile strength and glass transition temperature (Tg) of the vulcanizates increased correspondingly, implying that OV-POSS can helpful to accelerate the vulcanization of CM elastomer, and to modify its the mechanic performance and heat resistance. |
