Abstract:
The excellent mechanical properties of EPDM rubber are important to ensure the safety of its service equipment. However, its mechanical properties are significantly affected by temperature. In this paper, taking aviation EPDM rubber as an example, the influence of temperature ranges from 20℃ to 140℃ on the mechanical behavior of EPDM rubber is studied based on uniaxial tensile/compression experiment and finite element method (FEM). Results indicate that the Mullins effect, tearing force and tearing elongation of EPDM rubber decrease with the increasement of temperature.
