| Abstract: |
| Blend of EPDM and MVQ bearing both good mechanical strength and high temperature resistant property compared with pure EPDM were prepared using silane coupling agent, KH570 and WD-10, as the compatibilizing agent. Different influences of KH570 and WD-10 on the blend have been evaluated through the analysis of vulcanization curves, rubber process analyzer curves and stress-strain curves. The results showed that KH570 is much more effective for improving the interactions between the filler and rubber components, while it can also improve the interactions between the filler particles, thus the filler dispersion may be affected. Combination usage of KH570 and WD-10 was believed to be an ideal way to obtain EPDM/MVQ blend bearing both good mechanical strength and high temperature resistant property. |
