Abstract:
The effects of diameter and length of multi-walled carbon nanotubes on the properties of natural rubber/carbon nanotube composite were studied. The results showed that, the thermal conductivity of the composite was enhanced with the increase of length and diameter of the carbon nanotubes. The results of nonlinear curve fitting analysis showed that, the bundles of aligned multi-walled carbon nanotubes were just similar to the ordinary multi-walled carbon nanotubes with an equivalent diameter for the enhancement of thermal conductivity of the composite. The long carbon nanotubes(>5 μm) with a diameter between 40 and 60 nm could significantly improve the tensile properties of the composite.
