Abstract: |
A finite element method was used to simulate the three-dimensional co-extrusion molding process for tire compounds (TWD40/FS10).Simulated results such as the velocity distribution, interface excursion and die swell were obtained. The results indicated that the inflow flux ratio of TWD40 to FS10 had a great influence on the velocity distribution and interface excursion, and had a little influence on the die swell. When the inflow flux ratio was close to the area ratio of the inlet of the die,the velocity was well distributed, and the interface excursion was low, with the interface curve in width direction deflecting toward the lower viscosity side. The high velocity in the direction perpendi-cular to the extrusion direction resulted in local interface salient. With the increase of drawing velocity, the flat part length of the interface increased, and the die swell ratio decreased rapidly, while the velocity distribution and interface excursion at co-extrusion die exit changed little. |
