Abstract:
      The properties of carbon black or silica reinforced SSBR and ESBR tread compounds were investigated.The results showed that the SSBR had stronger interfacial interaction with silica than the ESBR;when reinforced by silica,the physical properties of SSBR vulcanizate were better than those of ESBR vulcanizate,while reinforced by carbon black,the SSBR vulcanizate had no significant advantage;compared with the carbon black reinforced SBR vulcanizate,the silica reinforced SBR vulcanizate possessed better wet skid resistance,lower rolling resistance,worse wear resistance,and the silica reinforced SSBR vulcanizate had the best wet skid resistance.
