Abstract:
      The mechanical properties of the vulcanizates prepared by HAF-filled powdered SBR[P(SBR/HAF)],SBR latex/HAF coprecipitation (ESBR/HAF)and bale SBR/HAF (MSBR/HAF) mixes respectively were investigated.The results showed that with the same addition level of carbon black,the values of modulus and tensile strength for MSBR/HAF,P(SBR/HAF)and ESBR/HAF vulcanizates were in the order of the first >the second >the third,the tear strength and the tensile set at break were in the order of the third >the second >the first.It was found through the observation of the surface morphology at tensile fracture by SEM that the fracture behavior of MSBR/HAF vulcanizate was the rubber matrix cavitation caused by microcrack,that of P(SBR/HAF)was both the rubber matrix cavitation caused microcrack and the crack growth and branching,and that of ESBR/HAF was the crack grow th and branching.
