The method of using templates and VBA for secondary development in CATIA was elaborated,without relying on CATIA mesh partitioning modules,to achieve finite element modeling of tires.The functions of filling surfaces,creating points,creating lines,and segmenting in CATIA could discretize the line and frame model of tire into geometric model that expressed finite elements.The template functions of Powercopy and User Defined Feature(UDF) could package geometric models with the same features,achieving feature universality.VBA secondary development could automatically call grid partitioning templates based on key objects or parameters in geometric features,achieving automation of the modeling process.According to the rules of unit definition,node definition,and surface definition in Abaqus,parameter definition was carried out in CATIA,and a tire model INP file that could be used for Abaqus calculation was generated through VBA secondary development.The implementation process had shown that finite element modeling of tire could be achieved in CATIA without the use of mesh partitioning modules. |
