摘要:
Rubber parts are used for a long time in automotive, aerospace and industry as hoses, engine mounts, seals, belts and profiles. Far from diminishing, demand for elastomer materials is still very important thanks to the extraordinary properties of rubber. But the rubber industry faces new challenges in a near future. These challenges include : harder service conditions like higher temperature and duration of aging , aggressive media and improved fatigue resistance , fire resistance with constraints like smoke reduction or low toxic fume and at least constraints related to the environment, recycling and REACh legislation on chemical risk.
To meet these new requirements, Hutchinson brings responses through optimized materials and innovative thanks a better knowledge of rubber materials and control of chemistry, physic-chemical characterization and new analysis tools or simulation. Examples will illustrate this approach focused on innovation and optimization of rubber-based materials.
