In this study， the environmentally friendly zinc additive was applied to replace the zinc oxide from indirect process at the same loading level in the belt compound of semi-steel passenger car radial tire. The experimental results showed that the curing characteristics of the rubber compound， the physical properties of the vulcanizates， and the H pull-out force between rubber matrix and steel cord before and after aging changed little. The finished tire showed good high speed performance and good durability.
